  • By Car: Use Car Park C at Doncaster Racecourse on race days; £7 per car (payable by card/contactless only) 
  • By train: Take the direct service from Adwick Train Station (5 minutes by car from Owston Hall Hotel) to Doncaster Interchange Station, then take the Doncaster Racecourse shuttle bus, which runs every 30 minutes on race days.

YORKSHIRE WILDLIFE PARK, DONCASTER

Less than 30 minutes from Owston Hall Hotel by car is the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.

Brilliant for lovers of wildlife and for visiting Doncaster with children, Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a walk-round animal adventure, conservation and rehabilitation centre.

There are over 500 animals and 100 species of mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians and invertebrates to see. Plus there’s a daily timetable of what’s on, trails, ranger shows and events. Please use satnav DN9 3QY for the park entrance.

Brodsworth Hall Doncaster

BRODSWORTH HALL AND GARDENS, DONCASTER

Only 15 minutes by car from Owston Hall Hotel in is Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, an historic manor built in the 1860s for the Thellusson family.

Now fully restored and in the care of English Heritage, the house and Victorian pleasure gardens are beautiful.

Visit for statue walks, the fern dell grotto  and for film locations: Brodsworth Hall was used for the BBC’s The Thirteenth Tale (2013), ITV’s Victoria (2016–2019), and for the films Testament of Youth (2014), and Darkest Hour (2017).

Visit Cusworth Hall in Doncaster

CUSWORTH HALL, MUSEUM AND PARK NEAR DONCASTER

Cusworth Hall is a Grade I Listed country house in Cusworth, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

Council owned Cusworth Hall is ‘a jewel in Doncaster’s crown’ and boasts acres of historic, landscaped parkland.

The hall was built between 1740 and 1744 for local landowner William Wrightson. Recent refurbishments to the Georgian manor have helped to preserve it and position it as Doncaster’s foremost social history museum.

Get there in 15 minutes (6 miles) by car from Owston Hall Hotel.

Consibrough Castle Doncaster

The English Heritage site has a famous keep, which is one of the most iconic landmarks in South Yorkshire. It was built around 1170 and was once held William the Conqueror.

Conisbrough became a beautiful ruin in the 18th century and inspired Sir Walter Scott’s 19th century novelIvanhoe.

Doncaster Minster

DONCASTER MINSTER

Doncaster Minster is the Anglican minster church in Doncaster city centre.

This beautiful Grade I Listed building was designed by architect George Gilbert Scott and built from 1854–1858. Special features include the Great East Window and the eight minster bells.

Doncaster Minster is open for worship every Sunday at 11.00am and Tuesdays at 12.30pm. 

South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum Doncaster

The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museumis where families of all ages can go to learn about Doncaster’s aviation heritage and see iconic aircraft up close.

Set on the site of the former RAF Doncaster, the museum is home to a vast collection from historical planes through to modern jet aircraft. The site is 95% accessible and dog friendly. 

Askern Music Festival Doncaster

Askern Music Festival is a one-day event that takes place each July at the Askern Events Field, Askern, Doncaster, DN6 0AA. Now an annual music festival, the organisers create incredible lineups packed with stars and musical talent.
